Aluminum 2024 is a high-strength alloy primarily composed of copper as well as other metals like magnesium and manganese. It's commonly used in aerospace and automotive applications due to its excellent strength-to-weight ratio, fatigue resistance, and corrosion resistance especially when cladded. Aluminum 2024 can be heat treated and easily machined, enhancing its versatility in additive manufacturing and post-processing.
